LITE2 takes affordable genome sequencing to a new level The Earlham Institute's improved Low Input, Transposase Enabled (LITE) protocol is a low-cost method for high-throughput whole genome sequencing with reduced DNA input.

Technological advances have transformed #sequencing, but costs and timescales can still be limiting, especially in library generation.

evere windstorms wreak havoc on fields of tall corn, like this one in Iowa laid low by a derecho in 2020. Image shows a field of corn with most of the plants lying down.

High hopes for short corn. Plants bred or engineered to be short can stand up better to windstorms. They could also boost yields and benefit the environment.

Wow, really neat new #OA paper from Kristen Ruegg's group using low coverage whole #genome sequencing to infer #migratory connectivity among wintering American Redstarts (Setophaga ruticilla), assigning them to breeding populations!

Hello! I'm a PhD student at the Earlham Institute, Norwich UK.
I'm working on uncovering the genetic basis of traits in herb crops.
Outside of work my interests include birding, botany, running and cycling.
