thanks I'll take a look. It's the ones that require index laws that I'm specifically looking for

In a Core Pure exam or in FP1. Concerning if this is a Core Pure exam. Do you happen to know which paper it was in?

We don't do FP1. It was in a CP1 exercise on Integral. Good to know I don't need to try to cover it

Yes, it's specifically the ones where they need to use index laws I'm after. I can see a few in your dropbox files so I'll collate them to hand out. Thank you

In #MathsToday I've got some students who are struggling with questions like this. Does anyone know where I can find a bank of them for them to practice with?

In #MathsToday a student was answering a vectors question in an Integral topic test that asked them to find the eqn of the line of intersection of planes. There is nothing on this in the textbook or in the spec that I can see. Does anyone know if it has/could come up in the exams?

I created a form time session for year 12 based on this book when I was asked to do one on gender equality (or not). It is a great read!

Yes, it's me!! I was really just thinking about leaving it until y13 have finished so they haven't got to get used to something different in their last few weeks. I'll add it to my June jobs!!

In #mathstoday I received an email saying I can now login to Pearson's ActiveHub. Does anyone who currently uses ActiveLearn know whether I need to move students over now or whether it can wait until the new school year when I'm adding a new cohort anyway?

We had a massive clear out of cupboards at school last summer and found a box with at least 30 in. We binned them. Clearly I should have tried to sell them. I have one that someone gave me a few years ago. One day I'll learn how to use it!!

Hi, I tried to download this but just got a 404 error message. Not sure if it’s just a me issue or whether there’s a problem on the website. Thanks

I bought some maths pens. Correct spelling was clearly optional 🤔

I changed my phone and to switch the authenticator to it I need to get my exams officer to do it. Such a faff. So far I've just been plugging in my old phone until it has a few % of charge and using that still. Don't they realise teachers need things to be quick and easy!!

My initial thought was that we pay for ActiveLearn/hub so what happens if you don't? I assume you will still be able to get at them?
I just don't understand why they need to change it. Like getting rid of the twitter account and us having to look at the social feed. Made it worse!

Yeah, that's what they're saying

That's on my to do list!!

Thank you. Since posting I've read the chain of messages so I have a bit more of an idea now. Have you found it works best when the students are quite equally matched in ability?

@hannahkettlemaths.bsky.social Hi Hannah, are you planning to make best guess GCSE papers for this summer?

As an A level maths teacher I'm intrigued now!!

Thanks. We give them extra after tests etc but it’s the follow up to make sure they’ve done it that’s the issue. Maybe breaking it up into weekly chunks could be a start 🤔

Do your booklets contain basic skills practice or are they past paper questions? Do they focus on a mix of topics or is it one per booklet? Is this just y13 or y12 too? Sorry for all the questions but I’m always on the lookout for how we can support our ever growing numbers at the lower end. Thanks

that's what he thought and what he has in his working. So does his working look right to you? Can you give me any pointers for what he needs to do next? Thanks!
