Arguing this over and over to people who only cared about quarterly profits was precisely how I spent a decade of my life that Iβll never get back, and also how I became an anticapitalist anarchist

UX designers are fighting the good fight everywhere. Iβll say that Iβm glad to be putting my own efforts elsewhere right now even though I make hilariously less money
And by no one I mean CEOs
I wish I could convey, from my own experience as a user experience designer, just how profoundly no one gives any kind of shit about users at all
Ok now I get it π
Ok thanks!

I wrote this story as a way to imagine what would happen after the next 'Big One' if we built a world where our economic and political systems existed to fulfill basic human needs, rather than to create profit for rich elites. #earthquake #lomaprieta www.patreon.com/posts/from-s...

Like I know why the word creativity is never going to be ok in the context of evolutionary biology, but in culture itβs really huge? Iβm sure there have been many talks about this.

Realizing gene-culture co-evolution is very similar to the premise of The Meme Machine, which I read forever ago and havenβt stopped thinking about since. Iβve always loved biology but ended up in an advertising career before writing fiction so the culturalness of it all is endlessly interesting
I didnβt know about fluctuating selection! This is so interesting and really makes me think about all the traits that are weirdly common despite not really seeming advantageous right now

Thank you for this.

Seeing my name beside these authors and I'm trying to be sooo normal about it π³
Really appreciate this shout out to my story that came out in @uncannymagazine.bsky.social. while not my usual dark horror bag, this was more me exploring cultural grief and the inevitably of your loved ones passing.
Thank you so much @annaleen.bsky.social for writing the most perfect blurb for my little book *while traveling in Central Asia* absolutely next level community commitment

Question for researchers in #ecology & #evolution: What are your favorite slightly-more-niche topics? What do you wish you could nerd out on with members of the general public without having to catch them up on the most basic stuff? What would thrill you to hear a movie scientist bring up? #EcoEvo
YES!!!!
