This is fascinating and hilarious.

LATER IN BELLEVILLE: CAREER Once by a bitter candle of oil and braided rags, I wrote verses about love and sleighbells which I exchanged for potatoes; in the summers I painted butterflies on a species of white fungus which were bought by the tourists, glass- cased for English parlours and my children (miraculous ) wore shoes. Now every day I sit on a stuffed sofa in my own fringed parlour, have uncracked plates (from which I eat at intervals) and a china teaset. There is no use for art.
“I wrote verses about love and sleighbells.” A poem by Margaret Atwood.
It is appalling. Why don't they do anything? (I know they would say there are many and complicated reasons, but it seems prettry basic to me).

Oskar sounds like a little trombone.
This really is not getting the attention it should. The Tories' latest proposal is to exclude *any household that includes any foreign national from any benefit*.
And when asked about it, they keep citing small boat crossings - a minute fraction of migration - to justify it. ~AA

I too have a large head, but I fear it is not all that full of braincells. I just don't wear hats as I have never yet found one that fits.
