Dorothea Lotze, M.Div., Th.M., LMFT Certified Educator of Clinical Pastoral Education (ACPE) & Trainer in Spiritually Integrated Psychotherapy Dorothea Lotze is a Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist (LMFT) and Certified Educator of Clinical Pastoral Education (ACPE), specializing in training mental health professionals to integrate spirituality into psychotherapy. Originally from Germany, she earned her Master of Divinity (M.Div.) and Master of Theology (Th.M.) in her homeland and at Candler School of Theology, Emory University. As Executive Director of the Training and Counseling Center Atlanta (TACC), she leads programs that prepare clergy, counselors, and lay leaders to provide spiritually attuned, socially just care, rooted in her decades of experience as a hospital chaplain and educator. In her training work, Dorothea emphasizes a trauma-informed, systems-oriented approach to spiritually integrated psychotherapy, drawing on her background in Internal Family Systems, EMDR, and mindfulness. She models interfaith competence and cultural humility, teaching professionals to serve clients of diverse spiritual backgrounds—including non-religious individuals—without bias. Her holistic perspective extends to her roles as a Yoga and Mindfulness Meditation teacher, informing her training in embodied healing practices. Dorothea’s personal life reflects her commitment to resilience and transition. A mother of adult twin daughters, she shares her home with her Yorkie-Poodle, Zoe, and practices Yin Yoga, meditation, and nature immersion as daily self-care.
