What better way to join Bluesky than post our first professional team photo. We've been busy onboarding everyone over the last few months, so welcome to Giusy, Debakshi, Kako and Gonzalo who have joined James. We're looking forward to helping our users do great cryo-EM.

Here we unexpectedly find that the ribosomal protein S20/L26—identified at the dawn of ribosome research but later deemed a biochemical artifact—is indeed a genuine component of the large ribosomal subunit. More on this ribosome content variation is here: www.nature.com/articles/s41...

Anyone ever have any problems with bacmid transpositions continuously not working? I have been struggling to get any positive white colonies using pFastbac plasmids from Twist and even for a plasmid from another lab for a while now.

Diagnose the diagnosable and don't miss the treatable.

Did you know that approximately 1 in 5 IMDs (18%) are amenable to some form of treatment? Therefore it's imperative to make the diagnosis and keep abreast of developments in the therapy space. onlinelibrary.wiley.com/doi/full/10....

FilamentID reveals the composition and function of metabolic enzyme polymers during gametogenesis Microorganisms facing adverse conditions for growth and reproduction adjust the function of metabolic enzymes by regulating enzyme self-assembly into filaments. The multiscale filament identification workflow determines polymer composition in the cellular context, enabling the exploration of physiological filament function.

This has been published for a while but thought it a neat workflow to study metabolic enzyme filaments in cells
