I get that about crystals! Rocks and crystals seem to be benign to a lot of people, but can open up a conversation to see if they see them in a spiritual way or not.

I generally don't open up unless actual interest, usually I see someone wearing jewelry with spiritual imagery that I ask if they are familiar with the meaning behind it, and then gauge how they talk about it.

That's encouraging to hear.
