I have been obsessed with her (Lan Lan's) videos and series Techniquely recently. She's fantastic! You can get many of them on YouTube.

do you ever wake up at 3am and think "shit that's a good idea, I better write that down so I can share it later on"
This is so cool! Given only the "exponential minus log" function, elm(x,y)=exp(x)-ln(y), and the constant 1, you can perform +, -, x, ÷, exp, ln, trig, powers, roots, etc. You can also obtain e and π! See arxiv.org/pdf/2603.21852 and arxiv.org/src/2603.218...
I'm crying laughing. This is worth your time.

"The project isn't the deliverable. The project is the vehicle. The deliverable is the scientist that comes out the other end."
Wow. Thanks for this post. I will be sharing it with my colleagues and students.
This is so, so well-articulated.
Great reminder: "Trans liberation is liberation for everyone."
Transgender rights = human rights.
In many countries around the world, the rights of trans people are under attack.
This International Transgender Day of Visibility, we continue to work for a world where all people can enjoy their rights fully.
I love a game with a good game mat. Courtisans has beautiful cards and a neat play mat.

In honor of pi day today, I will also be endlessly irrational until further notice.
Just a big fyi.
A t-shirt that reads, "I'm going to deal with this problem by yelling."
A t-shirt that reads, "I find myself profoundly fuckin' un-motivated."
A t-shirt that reads, "get fucked soon."
A t-shirt that reads, "can you fuck off and never un-fuck off"

Thanks for the heads up!
This sounds amazing
You rock! I'll send a link to my Google site where I upload my notes packets. They're generic, and not super fun, but effective
These are excellent! Do you have these in a shared drive anywhere where I could use them? (I'm happy to share my materials as well.)
Fly, you fuels!
Makes me mad: the command" Simplify"
It's vague and up to interpretation. Especially when it comes to radicals...
√25 is definitely simpler to write as 5.
However, I argue that √48 is WAY simpler to leave as is, when I know it's 6.9-ish, than it is to "simplify" to 4√3, especially when it's alone.
First physical prototype! The support structure attachments need some sanding but I’m really pleased. The ball is made from 68 semicircles assembled into a single simple closed curve.
And students only care to learn things when a human teacher gets them interested in it and fosters that passion and curiosity. Sure, videos can provide a spark, but not long term sustained interest.
Every ed tech fad intentionally ignores the fact that we are human and living in community with other humans is messy. The messiness is part of the essence and beauty and should be protected and supported in schools, not optimized out as if we were machines.
Reminds me of a post I read years ago on the math behind Spot It! Every card has exactly one matching image with every other card. math.mit.edu/research/hig...
This is a first attempt at categorising @catrionaagg.bsky.social 's puzzles by the techniques used to solve them.
My hope is that this makes it easier to use them in class.

Exponentials and logarithms revision practice grid. Contains eight exam-style questions to aid students with A-level Maths revision.
Line and circle geometry revision practice grid. Contains eight exam-style questions to aid students with A-level Maths revision.
Algebraic methods revision practice grid. Contains nine exam-style questions to aid students with A-level Maths revision.
Quadratics revision practice grid. Contains eight exam-style questions to aid students with A-level Maths revision.
I've added a new section to the site today - A-level Revision. Over the next few months I hope to add to the revision resources, starting with four A-level grids - algebraic methods, quadratics, exponentials and logs, and circle geometry.

We need a math teacher 3d printer space... Bc yes. I agree 💯.
There are supposedly ways to export a desmos 3d graph to a printable STL file. I'll add it to my list of things to try this weekend. It doesn't look "hard" but there are a few steps to the process. I'll get back to you!
What about having them create a multivariate surface on a closed region, create an STL file, 3d print it, find the volume, find the relative and absolute extrema, find a parametric path projected on the surface of a linear xy path, find the gradient/directional deriv... A cascade of math...
