First frog spawn of the year spotted at the connecting Cabra pond.

A small but important sign of spring. Frogs rely on ponds and wetlands like this to breed, and these habitats support many other species too.

Even in urban areas, wetlands play a vital role in supporting biodiversity.

Thanks to @irishtimes.com for covering this issue. Hopefully the High Court will give their judgement soon and we will get some safe cycling/walking infrastructure. #SpeirGorm

A comic of a bird singing about somebody eating their babies, and a crow responding that they did and they'd do it again.

And below them, it is a man listening to a cd of their conversation entitled "relaxing bird sounds"

When I hear lovely birdsong in the morning, I remember this comic and laugh

A very enjoyable evening with @tudublin.bsky.social media students watching their short films about flooding and nature restoration in Cabra. The @greenfoundationirl.bsky.social film about the Tolka also got a great response.

Exporting our most vulnerable to UK
& condemning mentally ill people to remand prison is unconscionable

It is a state scandal & literally a matter of life or death

Minister for Health needs to come to Dáil tmrw to set out immediate changes

Huge credit to Conor Ryan & @rteprimetime.bsky.social

15 yrs ago & it seems only yesterday that Conor Hickey was killed in Cabra. Two young boys from Gaelscoil Bharra were knocked down and killed in a 2 yr period on Faussagh & nothing has been done to make the road safer. The school, teachers, families & community are still paying the price. #SpeirGorm

It gets worse! Just when you thought they had come up with the worst possible legislation they've gone and made it worse again.

Micheál Martin and Simon Harris can fuck right off if they think we will give up our neutrality to fight along side war criminals and the spineless leaders who refuse to stand up to them.

We will either end fossil fuel dependency and the predatory extractivist basis of global production, or they will end us through wars and ecological collapse - all at the same time.

@garygannontd.bsky.social @mariesherlock.bsky.social also my local TDs and I share Brian’s disappointment. When are you going to stop supporting that site? Same question applies to Irish journalists too.

Irish Times article, entitled 'Children with dyslexia denied chance to learn Itish due to lack of support in schools.' Link to article below in thread.

The dad in this article is spot-on. The exemptions system, as it's now operating, is not a support system for students, it's a cop-out on the part of the state.

For Gaeilge, parents of kids with dyslexia are presented a binary choice - opt in, but with no additional supports, or opt out.
