You might not guess it from this picture but the vet said this little angel baby basically has a sack of gravel in lieu of actual individual front ankle bones and hella lysis in her back ankle😢 She got an antibiotic and a steroid injection and we're hoping she improves by her followup in a few weeks
Rad! I was def leaning towards this one as my fave, but I feared others wouldn't be as drawn to it's fragility and brokenness. It's just decayed so beautifully!!

ここ数年カシナガの被害などで伐採される樹木が増えたせいか、どこに行っても倒木や切り株がヒイロタケで真っ赤っかな印象がありますが、それはそれとしてカメラが色飽和するような強烈な朱色は印象的で、みんな頑張って還元してるなあと応援したくもなります😃
そんなヒイロタケを繰り返し見ているうちにイメージが出来上がったのはいいのですが、あれもこれもと欲張ってすっかり盛りだくさんになってしまいました。

Ever wanted to see a nasal turbinate? I love how these delicate swirls of bone resemble coral or the skeleton of a leaf💚💀
This skull has longer horns & looks very aged. It is broken diagonally from the left bottom of the nose up to the right eye socket. Greens and browns colour the more porous bone of this skull, weathered by years of exposure. The cranial suture has started to widen, as well as other cracks visible on this skull
🌿On the other hand I love the asymmetry of the broken one, as well as the texture it has gained from advanced years of weathering. Though I would scour and clean it, I would endeavor to recreate the greens and greys it has accumulated once I have reinforced it's structure to ensure it's longevity.
A skull lies on the grass. It has short horns that turn upward & is whole and complete except for one of the nasal plates, which has broken off. This skull is cleaned of flesh, but looks relatively smooth and strong.
💀💚On the one hand the skull on the right is more complete and solid. Having spent fewer years exposed to the elements, it's structure has yet to get as porous and it is only missing it's nose plate (I would likely remove the other side to maintain it's symmetry)
