My kind of bird news Viv: big Swift numbers π
I'm in the Dordogne visiting my French in-laws. 2nd year I've seen Eurasian Crag Martin at Perigueux cathedral. Last year found 2 wheeling around inside the building. This year found 1 busy nest on the exterior. Reading up I see this is supposedly outside their breeding range? Any thoughts people?
That's a bit weird. What can I say. Most birds seemed to be veering off up the Marshwood Vale. They weren't over the town as I came back up.
Cheers Mike
@bexbirder.bsky.social Was there a similar picture at Cogden today? I presume so.
Well over 100 Red Kite and still coming here West Bay Bridport the past 2 hours. Dropping in at the coast and all heading N. I've never seen these numbers here before. #ukbirding @bexbirder.bsky.social @notquitescilly.bsky.social
Agreed Gav. I'm over on the Dengie coast in Essex and have been bingeing on spring waders all day.
27 Red Kite just drifted over central Bridport the time it took me to drink a pint on the pavement #ukbirding
Superb Hobby over Eggardon Hill (Bridport) yesterday afternoon. My first of the year. Nearly crashed the car. #ukbirding
Another really lovely post Gavin. Since abandoning Tw***** at the advent of the new era I had lost track of your blog due to not being reminded about itπ€¦ Bluesky has righted my wrong.
Half dozen or so House Martin back in their usual airspace over Philips, Bridport today. Welcome back xx

Several Whitethroat back singing in expected bushes atop Hyde Hill Bridport. Thrilling to hear them again here. #ukbirding
