Whenever people complain about the number of folks relying on food stamps, it is worth reminding them that SNAP is, by too large of a degree, a subsidy for corporations that refuse to pay a living wage and their political allies who reject public policy prescriptions to reduce income inequality.

Federal Judge Jeffrey Cummings has found that ICE agents violated the terms of a consent decree by detaining people without proper warrants. He ruled that as of this week ICE must wear body cams at all times and can face arrest and contempt proceedings if they conduct unlawful, warrantless arrests.

When I shared these words in the spring, I was sure I’d be out by now. I was excited to celebrate #AceWeek publicly.

But circumstances have me still invisibly celebrating my invisible orientation.

Unseen as they both are, my identity is as real as my blood—life force with or without audience.
