Some of the offspring of my wild-collected Primula veris, Cowslip, have been heavily fasciated. The cause unknown, since I never use herbicide, which is one of the common causes of fasciation.

A prescient find at Llandaff Cathedral for @bsbibotany.bsky.social 100 plants challenge. Excuse the poor quality image it was pretty windy.

To be fair we have had our share of mud! Without any snow in South Wales.

Looking great was really worried about these guys last summer.

Trying to improve my plant taxonomy so using description is helpful for ID and good practice on many levels.

Done it and have now checked the box for alt text required before posting.

woodland plant approximately 30cm with opposing green oval leaves small green flowers on a spike -stamens visible. Id Dogs Mercury (Mercurialis perennis) - male.

Using alt text, is a great exercise for improving description of taxonomic features.

Error in alt text flowers clearly have stamens therefore male!

Will have to workout how to do it! No problem.

Ivy leaved toad flax (Cymbalaria muralis), cuckoo flower/lady’s smock (Cardamine pratensis), wood anemone (Anemone nemorosa), lesser celandine (Ranunculus ficaria).
