It was a pleasure to chat with scientists from @montereybayaquarium.org and write about these findings for BBC Wildlife magazine's website. Hanging out with the sea otters of Monterey was no hardship either.

A recent study has linked this rise to the increased abundance of mussels following the loss of ochre stars to sea star wasting disease, and changes in urchin availability.
