The video below was taken from drone, it shows an emerged intertidal eelgrass meadow in South West England criss-crossed with tidal channels.

Squid Parts of a squid are labeled: Mantle (covers organs), fin, gladius/pen (internal, chitin structure), arm, tentacles, eye, siphon (for moving with jet propulsion), beak, radula Squid have 8 arms and 2 tentacles. Arms are tapered and have suckers all along them. Tentacles are more elastic and only have suckers on their ends. Some species' suckers have rings of serrated teeth or hooks. Cephalopods are measured by their mantle length, because their limbs are muscular hydrostats. This means they expand and contract as needed and do not have a static length.

If they take too big a bite, they risk damaging their brains. Cephalopod means "head-foot," a reference to the structure of these molluscs. Most cephalopods is the suckers in their arms to taste their environment to help determine what is or isn't prey.

Seagrass meadows are biodiversity hotspots, home to thousands of species.

What's more, they act as incredible carbon sinks, helping combat climate change.

But 92% of the UK’s seagrass has been lost.

Protecting & restoring what we have left is vital.
