New OA Article: "Transport of phenoxyacetic acid herbicides by PIN auxin transporters" rdcu.be/eiJXf

PINs are key players in distributing phenoxyacetic acid herbicides. Mutagenesis and cryo-EM structures elucidate substrate specificity and transport mechanisms. #PlantScience

(2/2) Have a look to get our views on how biosensors could be and have been used to illuminate many aspect of plant biology, from energetics to development and biotic interactions; and some insights on biosensor engineering.

Quantifying Plant Biology with Fluorescent Biosensors | Annual Reviews Plant biology is undergoing a spatial omics revolution, but these approaches are limited to snapshots of a plant's state. Direct, genetically encoded fluorescent biosensors complement the omics a...

We wrote a review about how #fluorescent #biosensors are illuminating #PlantScience accross scales to let us ask new questions.

Auxin fluctuation and PIN polarization in moss leaf cell reprogramming Auxin and its PIN-FORMED (PIN) exporters are essential for tissue repair and regeneration in flowering plants. To gain insight into the evolution of this mechanism, we investigated their roles in leav...

Tang, Chen, and Friml show that moss' special superpower of de-differentiation and regeneration depends on auxin transport. I missed this preprint from a week ago (in Cell Biology subject instead of Plant Biology).

We've now moved into the era where we can discover how plants establish and eliminate hormone patterns, to determine their function. Amazing work by Jayne, Annalisa, Bijun, Wolf and Xander! Plus there is a more reversible, smaller phenotype Gibberlellin biosensor (GPS2).
