To give a sense of scale for this swan’s perceived territory, here he is a few moments prior before getting his pants in a bunch…

Ha! I was certainly considering my options in that moment, but he eventually calmed down.

This aggressive male mute swan had just chased off a pair of swans that I was photographing from his side of the estuary (with lots of noise and commotion that was not at all “mute”). He then turned his attention to me. 😳
