I find myself sometimes lost at the pace that things happen. I look to reply to a post from yesterday and it was made two months ago.

You're probably right, other me talking to me inside my head.

This nocturnal photograph captures the mirrored image of Zentsu-ji temple in Kagawa, Japan, as seen through a jagged puddle on an asphalt surface. The reflection reveals the intricate, tiered architecture of the temple structure, illuminated from within to create a glowing sequence of parallel lines and rhythmic geometric patterns. The contrast between the dark, textured ground and the brilliant, liquid symmetry of the temple offers a modern perspective on a sacred site.

photograph, surrealism a thread of underground root in the sky entangled over trees

Photo by Nothing Ahead. A black-and-white photograph taken at water level on the open sea. Gentle swells fill the lower two-thirds of the frame, their surfaces catching soft gradients of light and shadow. At the horizon, the sun rests as a small, luminous orb — neither fully risen nor fully set — dissolving into a vast, overcast sky. No land, no vessel, no figure. Only water, sky, and a single point of light holding the boundary between them.
Be water. Be light. Be something where they meet.

Sunlight is breaking through a cloudy but artsy sky. There are trees in the bottom right corner. 📷 Dreamcatcher

PHOTO by James Wheeler. A vivid sunset ignites the sky with streaks of lavender, coral, and gold, casting their hues across a blanket of scattered clouds. Below, a perfectly still lake mirrors the dramatic canvas above, creating a seamless reflection of color and light. A narrow strip of land with silhouetted trees and distant mountains separates sky from water, anchoring the surreal scene in quiet solitude.
Sometimes, what matters most is not the light or the dark, but the in-between moment.
The Verdant Stillness of the Kyu-Iwasaki-tei Garden This photograph captures a section of the moss garden at the Kyu-Iwasaki-tei Garden in Tokyo, featuring a path of weathered stepping stones partially covered in vibrant green moss. Scattered across the moss and stones are fallen orange and red leaves, creating a striking seasonal contrast that exemplifies the Japanese aesthetic principle of wabi-sabi—the beauty found in the imperfect, impermanent, and natural aging of things. This former estate of the Iwasaki family, founders of Mitsubishi, is renowned for its unique blend of Western and Japanese architectural and garden styles.

Thanks! It was a really interesting project to me. I have done a number of collages but working with transparencies was really a twist that made me think about it in a new way.
An image of a pasque flower, purple with dew on its petals caught in full sun.

You belong in a boat out at sea
You belong with your love on your arm
You belong somewhere you feel free

Well, whatever you are doing is obviously working, so carry on.
The abyss be voidsplaining again
How do you glow with an inner light like that? Just curious.
A collage made of transparencies in a green wooden frame. I wanted to play with light and dark. It was much more difficult than I thought it would be to try to get the light to play through the colors as smoothly as I wanted. If I did something similar again, I did learn a few things that would help, though.
A collage that I made of transparencies in front of a window.

Closeup view of a solitary bubble floating adrift. The background of the photograph shows mostly cloudy skies with sporadic areas where the blue sky breaks through. Despite clouds, the predominant color tone of the photograph is blue. The bubble overall appears a richer blue than the sky background and the outer edge of the bubble is noticeably the deepest of blue hue. Slight iridescence can be seen on the extreme upper and lower edges of the bubble where sunlight is visibly reflected.

I'm not even supposed to be here, since the sold out tour had no dates or venues.

Painting of night sky in the mountains. A small natural stone pool of water nestles in the mountains. Animals drink at the edge of the water.
