Line Art:
A vibrant, stylised study of two small rabbits sitting in a meadow of purple, pink and white flowers. I used textured brushes to make it look ask traditional as possible.
Happy Easter! ๐ฐ๐ท๐ฅ #animalart #bunnies #easter
Line art of the dragon design. I wanted the line work to look as much like traditional pencil as possible, hence some of the sketch lines.
A page of alternative/ rough sketches. The main sketch on this page I felt looked too menacing and dinosaur/reptilian-like, and I preferred the more whimsical look of the final design.
Line art and alternative sketches:
A fantastical dragon design, inspired by seahorses and leafy sea dragons. The dragon's body is long and sleek with fin/ leaf-like wings and an ornate tail. The colours ion the dragon range from orangey-yellow to green on the leaf-like fins to red/magenta on the feet and tip of the snout.
I haven't drawn anything fantastical in a while so I thought it would be fun to design a dragon inspired by Seahorses and Leafy Sea Dragons! ๐ #creaturedesign #dragons
A vibrant, stylised study of a silky anteater mother climbing along a tree branch with her baby cliinging on to her back. Silky anteaters have hook-like grasping claws, similar to sloths. For this piece I used bold, sketchy linework that is is filled in with vibrant, highly-textured brush strokes.
Happy Mother's Day! ๐ท
Here's a quick little stylised study of a Silky Anteater Mother and baby. #SciArt #animalart #mothersday
Thanks so much Jay!
inspired by this set of photographs by Mark Taylor (from his kayak) www.sunderlandecho.com/news/people/...
A vibrant, slightly stylised digital painting of two dolphins breaching the ocean with Roker/ Sunderland coastline in the background. The orange/ yellow hues of the lighhouse and buildings are in stark contrast to the deep blue water and blue/ purple/ pink-ish sky.
Study of dolphins at Roker Pier, Sunderland. ๐ฌ
Always found urban nature photography really fascinating, and wanted to paint something close to home.
Thank you so much for buying the print! Very honoured that you chose my artwork for such a significant occasion!
Adam RL - 2022 painting of a Rex + it's chick touching noses. A beautiful piece I knew I wanted for my child when they were born last year.
2025 was eventful to say the least... In my world, and why posting Dino Facts has been much less frequent, is my little hatchling arrived! A big shoutout to @adamrl.bsky.social for putting this Rex & chick print for sale so I could hang it in the nursery!
Hopefully 2026 is less hectic for us all
Light version: #Halloween

Very flattered that you would ask for an opinion from me. I don't feel like I have any authority on the accuracy of paleoart but I think it's very reasonable to give them fleshy lips hiding the teeth (they might be visible when the mouth is open) and have the skin covering the head crest. Great job!

Biblically accurate clippy
Always great when an artist that you've admired online for a while turns out to be lovely in person! Thank you so much Andy! ๐
Thank you so much for coming by the stall Ant! Was lovely meeting you!
Cool #paleoart : Another of the prints I bought at @dinoconuk.bsky.social !
A collage showing all of the original traditonal paintings/ drawings that I will be selling at #DinoConUk. Everything from acrylic paleoart paintings to pen and ink cryptid illustrations and extant animal studies.
#DinoConUK is Tomorrow!
As well as selling prints and stickers at my stall (mine is number 14), I am also bringing a selection of original paintings, drawings and sketchbook pages that are up for sale! #Paleoart #SciArt
As far as I know (I'm no ammonite expert), the shell shape wouldn't make the animals great swimmers so it's unlikely they would be good pursuit predators. They were possibly planktonic feeders, waiting to snatch crustaceans, maybe fish or even other cephalopods! (ammonites or belemnites).
Thank you very much!
Thanks so much!
Absolutely! As far as I'm aware, we don't really know what kind of evolutionary advantage this shell shape would give the animal. It almost certainly wouldn't make it more hydrodynamic/ a better swimmer (at least for lateral movement)!
This piece will be available to buy as a print at #DinoConUK ! this weekend!
A paleoart piece depicting the Rhomaleosaurid plesiosaur Atchodracon. The animal is calmly swimming through shallow waters, with the surface of the water visible at the top of the piece via lighting/ distorted water effects. Dark kocks and the sandy seabed can be seen underneath the large animal. Atychodracon, similarly to Rhomaleosaurus is very robustly built for a plesiosaur with a large (although not as large as a pliosaur), triangular head filled with sharp teeth and a stout/ turtle-like body (minus the shell). . Atychodracon was originally found in the UK, with specimens that date back to the Triassic-Jurassic boundary (early Hettangian). It was a fairly large plesiosaur at 5 meters long. The holotype specimen was housed in Bristol City Museum and Art Gallery (see second image) but was destroyed during world war II. casts of the head and a flipper were preserved however, with features unique enough to be assigned to its own genus (separate from Rhomaleosaurus), erected in 2015.
Here's a re-vamped version of this paleoart piece (originally from 2023) depicting the Rhomaleosaurid plesiosaur Atychodracon.

a vibrant digital painting depicting two Ancyloceras (ammonites with a long, hook-shaped shell as opposed to the typical spiral) in the foreground. The coral reef, along with crinoids (sea lillies) and more typically-shaped ammonites can be seen in the background. An ammonite is classified as heteromorph if its shell is shaped like anything other than the typical spiral/ coil. There is a huge amount of diversity in the shell shapes of hetermorph ammonites, from almost perfectly-straight cones to shells shaped like paperclips!
New paleoart! A pair of Ancyloceras (a heteromorph ammonite) drift along the coral reefs of the lower Cretaceous waiting for food to pass them by. ๐๐ #SciArt #Paleoart #Invertebrates
A spread of the prints (and stickers) that I will be selling at #DinoConUK! There's everything from paleoart, to illustrations of extant animals (e.g. sharks) to gritty photomanipulations of your favourite cryptids (Mothman and Nessie).
Just about finished prepping for #DinoConUK !!!๐ฆ
I've got a nice variety of stuff printed, with a few of these in different sizes.
Please come by my stall (number 14 in the vendor hall) and pick up a print or a sticker! #SciArt #Paleoart
