When you're at Day's Lock in Oxfordshire, spot the green plaques celebrating the 'village greens' of Dyke Hills and Day's Lock Meadow, created thanks to the Open Spaces Society and local campaigners.

Good news! Benson Weir Walkway is due to open on 1st April. The weir has been rebuilt with new radial gates, new fishpass and wider walkway between Preston Crowmarsh and Benson Lock for the #ThamesPath National Trail. #fingerpostfriday @ramblers.org.uk
The Abingdon Weir Walkway is open again because the level of the River Thames has dropped, altho' the current is still flowing fast! The Environment Agency continues to monitor the situation here.
I've passed this bench at Barnes loads of times and never once stopped to read the inscription. Thanks to Wendy the @thamespathnt.bsky.social volunteer extraordinaire I now understand its significance to the Thames Path. We owe a lot to David Sharp & his wife www.visitthames.co.uk/ideas-inspir...

Yesterday our volunteers Ian B and Ian C dug out an old fingerpost near Ashton Keynes in Wiltshire, replaced it with a new one made by volunteers in our workshop; they cleared overgrowth, replaced a fingerboard and cleaned waymarkers. All in a day's work π #volunteers #thamespath #fingerpostfriday

Can @johnmtippetts.bsky.social help with this query please? John visited the source a few weeks ago. Pools of water may still be in fields between the source and Ashton Keynes. It will take some time for water to drain away.

A pollarded Willow from the #ThamesPath at Day's Lock Oxon. Home to a Little Owl.
Pollarding willow trees, like these two on the #ThamesPath in Oxford, gives them longer lives, great habitats for bats, insects, birds and plants, and naturally thicker trunks...perfect for #thicktrunktuesday @ticl.me
Remembering Rambler David Sharp, born #OTD 100 years ago. David was the 'father' of the Thames Path, leading surveys, relentlessly negotiating the route and writing guide books before it was approved in 1989. Kate Ashbrook's tributeπ campaignerkate.wordpress.com/2015/05/13/d...

Dry through Oxford this afternoon, but the river is still very high and flowing fast. Riverside path closed Fiddlers Island to Port Meadow. We need several days with dry, sunny weather and no rain.
How gorgeous is the Thames Path looking in Barnes, with early spring blossoms emerging?! πΈ

Thank you Andy! Has the sunshine helped to dry up the surface of the Thames Path, or is it squelchy and slippery in places? Have a great time on your Thames Ultra Challenge training runs!
