Electromagnetic field-inducible in vivo gene switch for remote spatiotemporal control of gene expression The EMF-inducible gene switch (Ei) platform provides precise spatiotemporal control of gene expression through Cyb5b-mediated calcium oscillations. This system enables Ei-OSK-driven in vivo rejuvenati...

There is something to be said about the massive increase in postdoc applicants for ARC DPs and Ideas grants in the NHMRC. It’s exponentially harder form them given they are competing with seasoned group leaders. The system is in real trouble.

I hear you. Awhile back I had the not so bright idea to perform targeted rna sequencing on the bdnf locus. It scared everybody in the lab so much that we had to shelf the project.

@martinowk.bsky.social are you circling back to this monster?

Probably safe to assume ~30% for each panel so cut off for BSB for example, around 355.

Any idea about the success rate for each panel, or the cut off for each?

Two codes of RNA editing by deamination in human diseases - Experimental & Molecular Medicine RNA editing is a process that changes the genetic information in RNA molecules after they are made from DNA. The study explores two main types of RNA editing: adenosine-to-inosine (A-to-I) and cytidin...

Here’s awesome bit of technical work by PhD student Josh Davies in Paul Marshall’s lab at ANU. Proud to part of it. Sex differences run deep when you look at the brain with high resolution.

Why emotion research is stuck—and how to move it forward Studying how organisms infer indirect threats and understand changing contexts can establish a common framework that bridges species and levels of analysis.

My perspective in @thetransmitter.bsky.social on why emotion research feels stuck and how we might move forward—by focusing on how the brain uses internal brain models to shape emotional processing across species. www.thetransmitter.org/emotion/why-...
