nooooooooo. I’ve been misled. still a great message to the haters.
Ocassional reminder.
How are we approaching government support for science here in Australia @albomp.bsky.social?

finally!
There is something to be said about the massive increase in postdoc applicants for ARC DPs and Ideas grants in the NHMRC. It’s exponentially harder form them given they are competing with seasoned group leaders. The system is in real trouble.
Gold!
I hear you. Awhile back I had the not so bright idea to perform targeted rna sequencing on the bdnf locus. It scared everybody in the lab so much that we had to shelf the project.
@martinowk.bsky.social are you circling back to this monster?
Probably safe to assume ~30% for each panel so cut off for BSB for example, around 355.
Any idea about the success rate for each panel, or the cut off for each?
Colleagues. I’m super excited about presenting at the Canadian 🇨🇦 Neuroscience meeting in May! How’s going and who wants to get together for a catch up?

Here’s awesome bit of technical work by PhD student Josh Davies in Paul Marshall’s lab at ANU. Proud to part of it. Sex differences run deep when you look at the brain with high resolution.
Excited to share our latest preprint: "SWARM: A Single-Molecule Workflow for High-Precision Profiling of RNA Modifications" www.biorxiv.org/content/10.6...

Another outstanding RNA meeting!
My perspective in @thetransmitter.bsky.social on why emotion research feels stuck and how we might move forward—by focusing on how the brain uses internal brain models to shape emotional processing across species. www.thetransmitter.org/emotion/why-...
We are looking for a postdoc to work on mechanisms of #RNA decay in cancer using #cryoEM with #nanobodies and #minibinders! Please RT
I agree!

Here we go! 2026. the year I learn python and do my own dRNA analysis. Digging deep and glad to know @martinalexsmith.bsky.social, @michaelbclark.bsky.social, and all the other nanopore gurus in australia. @nanoporetech.com
This is a great read. Once again, RNA for the win.
Yet another fantastic discovery surrounding cell surface RNAs and cellular function. Congrats @raflynn5.bsky.social and colleagues!
Outstanding! Congratulations Keri!
RNASky! Wow this looks like a great opportunity to learn alot about RNA in the brain......
