Cheaper sources of naturally #GlutenFree fibre include brown rice, lentils, beans & pulses (of course always check for ‘may contains’ on the label) x

Side note: this can be harder; but is even more important if you have #coeliacdisease; #glutenfree alternatives to whole grain bread and pasta are more expensive p/gram, can be highly processed and lower in fibre. The ‘brown’ in GF brown bread is often from added colouring NOT whole grain?

Back to the basics on my course this week for this module on all things #protein. I was excited to learn that many plant proteins are as effective as animal proteins for muscle maintenance/gain; although as you can see - requires some big portions to hit your needs! 💪🏼 #MNUStudent2024

Then Dr. Alistair Monteyne on #vegan protein - great to have my biases challenged by evidence - lots of cutting edge research shows plant protein sources as just as effective as whey for muscle protein synthesis - if you can overcome quantity and palatability challenges 💪🏼
