I took a nice walk with old Buddy in the Gila Nat. Forest this morning. So many birds singing spring songs! It's a dry time of the year so there's not much water in the creek. Buddy (at the bottom of the photo) doesn't like to get his toes wet.

Bright yellow daisy shaped flowers growing on a small shrubby plant with pale green foliage.
More pretty, weedy #wildflowers in my yard. This Threadleaf Ragwort is looking vibrant in the sun.

3 javelinas walk in single file along a solid wood fence down a rural road.
Ooh that's a little one. And red fur?!
I saw 3 javelinas recently walking down the road by my house. They were headed to a nearby secluded creek. Took this photo through a screen.
I read 1 article about allergies and hormones yrs ago. Seems to be a connection but I don't know if it's common. I always wanted a cat and was so psyched to discover the allergy had waned. I'll happily pass on your message and hugs to my cats.๐
My very first cat, Hamlet, is a grey and white cat with an orange spot on his nose.
I'd always been allergic to cats (after starting my period.) After menopause I noticed my sneezing & snuffling stopped so I went to a cat shelter.Spent 2 hrs sticking my nose into various cats to make sure my allergy was gone. Got my very 1st cat 1 1/2 yrs ago. Now have 3. So happy to be a cat lady!
Absolutely!
That's a long, beautiful lizard tail. ๐

My cat Hamlet thinks he's hiding behind the TV.
Kaylee, lol. Good choice!
That face is so cute! When I lived in Pennsylvania years ago we had wild blueberry and huckleberry bushes. My little mixed terrier would pick them right off the bushes and eat them. ๐ซ
Snakes make me a bit squeamish, but as long as it stays outside, I'm ok with it.
The body of a 4 foot brown and tan snake is curved around a garden tool on a cement floor. The head and tail are hidden behind wooden crates.
The snakes are back, awakening from their winter "naps." This is a nonvenomous Sonoran Gopher Snake.

๐ Future generations mean nothing to them. The greed is mind boggling.
Kudos! ๐๐๐
Walmart in Truth or Consequences, NM has solar panels over most of the parking lot. They also keep the car seat from burning my butt when I get in the hot car in the summer. ๐
Thanks!
Blue heron standing on a rock with its' reflection beneath it in the water.
This photo I took of a blue heron in Florida turned out well for a cell phone shot.
Send in Vance to negotiate for lower rent.
How cool is that! ๐
So glad to hear it. Btw...that scenery around the nest is beautiful!
Congratulations and thank you to Chantal Wadsworth!
A bright daisy-like flower with yellow petals and orange to red center.
I have a weedy desert backyard, but it has nice spring wildflowers. Blanket flower.

A sphinx moth spreads its wings against green foliage. (Photo from 2024)
The yellow and green stamen of a white evening primrose heavy with pollen. The moth's tongue was stuck way into the center of the stamen.
TIL that sphinx moths have long tongues. I saved one early this morning when it's proboscis was stuck deep into the stamen of an evening primrose in my backyard. It took some effort to free it without damage, although the flower was shredded by the time I released it.

Gorgeous! Broad tailed and Black chinned hummers in my neck of the woods.
It was hard for me to identify his actual head!
Yes, it's a great place to see birds. ๐
I saw a bunch of them gathered together at Whitewater Draw in southeast AZ (very noisy!), but haven't been to Willcox Playa.
Definitely! I adopted a rescue about 4 months ago and I'm still seeing her grow happier and relaxed in her new home. So fun and gratifying.
There's something so satisfying about watching them migrate. I've seen some migrate up the Rio Grande.
It's so cute how it does a little somersault into the pouch.
