THE REVOLUTION WILL NOT BE SUPERVISED

Thx to @hypha.coop members for joining in a spontaneous guerrilla pilot of my #polislike "reaction canvas" app, from the audience of @jakehirschallen.bsky.social's @dxcsummit.bsky.social panel this past weekend :) cc @anaserrano.bsky.social

(My financial relationship with them is over, but they're friends now. It's notable that they supported me when they got value from my work, even when they could have just taken it, when most ppl just view my outputs as a gift to the commons.)
From being in circles with Nico and Yuting, I read these messages as being about peer support/alignment on what's in the commons between the building. I am not a traditional collaborator myself, and I recognise that they don't act like a normal "company" hawking wares.
I brought this up to @jay.bsky.team in Vancouver as well.
While Bluesky can be read as a generic, public platform without community boundaries, it also has subsets of community that can be targeted for specific conversations.
Instead of NDAs and Google Meets, you could gate a pol.is by DID.
I was brought into this group last year by @patcon.bsky.social who I met in Newspeak House atending Pol.is related gatherings - a chain of events which speaks to the grassroots movement of the Voxit Community and the value of these convening places.

Been trying to think of the most basic version of what I'm motivated by right now... 🤔 maybe...
Responsible Technology for the Telling of Loud Stories™️
Weirder variant: responsible digital technology for the networked deployment of simple social technology :)
Viktor Orban is waging cognitive warfare on a scale no one else has tried before. "Emotions are high because the stakes are high. If he succeeds, he will once again blaze a path that others will follow. And if he loses, an era comes to an end."

A bee taking flight from a flower.
Current status: thinking about beehives & culture.
Bees forage for sugar, storing it in static structural wax comb of the hive, to power future work.
Humans forage for information & store it where? What is our hive? Our wax? Our honey?
What's culture? Books? Language itself?
Working on my next #collectiveintelligence project: it's like... uh...
Mario Party x crowd-karaoke x DJ software
With a bit of pol.is, @choirchoirchoir.bsky.social, and www.liberatingstructures.com thrown in for good measure :)

Percussion generally is very much of the streetscape, can be quite accessible or professional at the other end, and of service to formal and informal festivals :)
Nice! Any particular areas of focus or optimism? I liked the salsa point. I think Afro-Brazilian drumming (samba, maracatu, etc) is similar in some cities like Toronto -- ppl join the big messy anarchic ones then hive off as they take it more seriously, like a flywheel. Lots of cross-cultural travel

But then, like we can do when lagging in space, perhaps we can have time elastically recoil to bring us back to the front row, back to the hiking troupe, back to the perpetually cresting wave of the present reactive moment, that can somehow hold us all.
Current status: thinking about livestream participation interfaces that allow pausing, like lagging intentionally behind to comment (or just to think!). Or maybe just to quietly take a picture of the family from behind, to see the moment more clearly later. (Thanks mom ❤️)
What might it mean to rewild human collectives? en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Rewilding
And with parallels to job market turmoil brought by #llms... what might our democratic #rewilding mean for the zookeepers of our world? The lion tamers? The bull fighters? #collectiveintelligence #democracy
> Maybe there's something about how consecutive parts of a linear narrative divide people and/or bring them into alignment, which is part of a narrative when doing pro-life work (assembly/destruction of living structure in the right ways, in a Christopher Alexander sense)
Thanks to @hexafield.bsky.social and @michaelgarfield.bsky.social's mapmakers discord for giving this thought a chance to be articulated aloud :)
The homology of linear narrative and linear peptides is a deep interest for me...! bsky.app/profile/patc...

Even the presentation I was about to give them -- they saw what I used to generate it ("I am speaking to attendees of a civic hacknight civictech.ca [...]") & they can judge the output. So they would leave the circle learning THAT even if the presentation was bad.
At last civic hacknight, was trying to sell a table of variously-technical attendees on ubiquity of learning in AI world (as an agent was live-writing the onboarding slide deck from my codebase)
We're all about to become better at articulating our taste, a very core primitive: youtu.be/jg1WUOxY6Cg
It's so disgusting that I can almost hear the countless hours this man has been talking to a sycophantic ChatGPT... thanks OpenAI
This is how you create a new generation of terrorists, Friends.

Holy shit, I want this to be my new "about me" link: mino.mobi/novelty/?han...
I sure as heck don't mind being benchmarked by such a cheap metric...! I think I actually appreciate novelty as a core value, so this is neat for something I value so much to be so easy to calculate :)
