I want Honda to bring back the Element (slim chance, I know).

Yep. If a car does something bad, then it’s “ok.” But if any bicyclist does something wrong, all hell breaks loose.
That speaks volumes about our car-brained, double-standard society.
I remember this scene from when I was a kid. And I love it even more an adult.
Cargo bikes are awesome.

It's time, folks!
This was huge on Twitter back in the day and we need to keep it going on Bluesky. The annual #TreeByBike haul begins and your photos will be an inspiration to everyone. 🎄🚲
When bike paths are safe and easy to use, more people are likely to ride bikes, which helps keep everyone healthier and reduces healthcare costs.
I needed to haul something very large and heavy today. Did I buy a pickup truck, saddling myself with insane monthly payments, insurance, and maintenance? Nope, I rented one for $80, did the task, and returned it. It's that simple.
Very much so. Through bicycling, I’ve unexpectedly connected with my neighborhood/community and I find it very satisfying.
I also made friends at Open Street-type events such as CicLAvia/ActiveStreets SGV in LA. I didn’t think that would ever happen.
Sign from the front of a box reading “little free pep talk library” with a small heart
Box containing “make one” bin with blank paper, “take one” bin with notes left by previous visitors, and many pens and markers
Me holding a note reading “If the you from 3 years ago saw you now they’d be _so_ proud” with the box in the background
The most Seattle thing you’ve ever seen and also the most adorable thing: “little free pep talk library” on 15th Ave SW mid-block between Thistle and Elmgrove. I read one (pictured) and left one.
I went to this a few years ago and it was fun. Miniature train setups, tours of old train passenger cars and I think Metrolink/Amtrak cars. All free. 🚂💺🚉
Today is the #4thofJuly, the day where we celebrate the birth of...The #PacificElectric Railway!
The PE's first interurban rail line, the Long Beach Line, began service #OTD in 1902 and lasted until April 1961. Most of it was rebuilt in 1990, known today as the Metro (A) Line.
SBLA editor @lintonjoe.bsky.social is posting live coverage of today’s #LaVerne A Line Station dedication ceremony. Foothill A Line extension to Pomona is completed and will open soon - likely July/Aug/Sept 2025.
Nice to see a Brompton featured in a children’s book!
#CicLAvia this Sunday has been postponed, but if you still want the exact same experience, you can still go to ActiveSGV's Mission at Twilight 5-mile open streets event later that day between 3-8pm from #SouthPasadena to #SanGabriel:

“We found there’s this perfect one-to-one relationship. If a city increased its road capacity by 10% then driving in that city went up by 10%.” Still one of the best articles on why building bigger roads leads to more cars stuck in the same congestion. Understanding #InducedDemand Via @wired.com
YOOOOOOOOOOOOOO!!!!
Finally at the brand spankin' new @metrolosangeles.bsky.social LAX/Metro Transit Center Station!
#Westchester
When I learned years ago that the LAX Metro Transit Center was costing $900 million to build, I didn’t understand how a light rail stop could be so expensive, and thought it was a massive waste
Wow, was I wrong. They built a generational piece of civic infrastructure.
Hey, you know what goes really fast, takes up a lot more space, emits a lot more pollution/noise/GHG emissions, costs a lot more public money, and is FAR more dangerous in cities than any kind of bike in a city where most don’t drive?
Cars.
So, about that “enough is enough”…
So the shuttle buses between the terminals and the new Metro transit center only operate between 4am and 1am and not 24 hrs/day?
Does LAX close between 1am and 4 am?🤔
I wish more businesses did this!
Man in red shirt and white helmet walking his bike on Glendale Blvd at Glendale’s Open Street event on Saturday, May 31, 2025.
You caught me walking my bike at a hub!
After the event, I biked/Metro A lined to Pasadena for their annual Ice Cream Bike Ride. It was a great day to bicycle in SoCal! 🚲
Why Metro's new LAX Transit Center is a big deal. Hint: it's not just the connection to LAX la.streetsblog.org/2025/05/28/w...
I hope the orange dotted intersections along Washington Blvd and Long Beach Blvd get signal prioritization sooner rather than later; rail movement is painfully slow along those segments.
It’s about time they are on BlueSky.
Car drivers should be required to ‘dismount’ from the drivers seat and push their cars past the bike lane instead.
I’ll be there, too like CicloIrvine, City of Bell, and LB Open Streets. 🚲
I was there and attendance was somewhat sparse but the participants were happy and there were some good, cheap eats along the route. Looking forward to CicLAvia at Pico-Union and Glendale’s Open Streets in May.
This @bicycledutch.bsky.social video perfectly captures how the test phase transitions into permanent bike-friendly spaces.
A simple, effective model that should be standard practice everywhere.
