I don’t go here very often but feel I must comment. This image will go down in history, its message is beyond words.
A closeup of the front of a gray t shirt. There is a picture of a row of evergreen trees. Below the picture it says “MAY THE FOREST BE WITH YOU”
This came in the mail today, just in time to wear on Earth Day tomorrow! Got it at ourparks.org for the benefit of national public lands. There are stickers and magnets and stuff too!

Big shoutout to Kelty this week. They’re donating 5% of every purchase to the Conservation Alliance in support of saving the US Forest Service. Kelty is one of the four companies that actually founded the Conservation Alliance back in 1989, alongside Patagonia, REI, and The North Face.
Spring in Philadelphia.
The card on display says “April 19 All the flowers of all the tomorrows are in the seeds of today”
My mom’s big sister had a year’s worth of inspirational messages on a rotating set of cards in her kitchen. They’re in my mom‘s kitchen now. I really like the message for today, Mom’s 94th birthday!
Having lived through January 6, I’m not 100% convinced Orban has truly conceded. Will believe it when power is actually transferred!
Germany just activated its largest ever solar installation — one farm, 1.5 million homes, zero carbon. The #CottbusSolarPark covers 3,500 hectares and produces 2.1 tw-hours annually, replacing two coal plants that operated on this same land until 2022. #SolarPower #ActOnClimate #Renewables
… stockinette or (as in this pattern) k1 p1 ribbing!
I think this pattern is pretty easy but if you’ve never done slip stitches before you might want to try that first. I made a headband with stash yarn that may be a good first try - link below.
Look for “mosaic” patterns for more examples!
Slip stitch color work is really great because it’s secretly just knitting stripes. You are always only knitting with one color. You just slip stitches (slide them over purl-wise without knitting) to get different color patterns.
It works with garter stitch or …
Thanks!
Surprisingly easy and very satisfying!
Always love a fun stash buster!

Theme of the week is cowls, sharing two that are reversible. First, my first try at double knitting. Second, a fun and easy slip-stitch cowl!
Shortcut cowl is an eye popper!
Love it! Nothing says “warm” like chili peppers! 😄
Are you following this? More and more companies that define themselves around the availability of public lands are jumping on board to help save the Forest Service. You can help by thanking those on board and encouraging those that haven’t stepped up to do the right thing. Link ⬇️
Thank you!! ❤️

Fab! Ad libbing, or pattern? 😊
What can resistance organizers learn from the recent election in Hungary?
This weekly newsletter always has useful tips, clarifying perspective, and encouragement!
“Nonviolent movements succeed by strategically pressuring the pillars of support for an injustice to withhold or withdraw things like information, cooperation, funding, labor and more.”

Maybe? 🤷♀️
Or maybe expanding Christian Nationalism poison into the Church.
I don’t know his conversion story, but much of what I’ve seen is him choosing something because he sees potential for personal gain. Let’s say getting an in with the 20-25% of voters who are Catholic.
“Gas engines require time to build power, electric motors deliver power instantly, resulting in immediate, smooth, and consistent acceleration without gear shifts.”
Not getting into defining masculinity but seems like “slow, noisy, dirty power” wouldn’t be the optimum thing to identify with. 😊
In a first last month, renewables supplied more power to the U.S. than natural gas, a milestone in the shift to clean energy.
That’s a shame but not a surprise, really, as some marketing research suggests they’re favored by conservative shoppers. This move suggests they don’t want to lose those shoppers. (But they will lose others, so, maybe just do the right thing wrt the Forest Service?)
