Hopefully by the end of 2024 the ridiculous #EQLS saga will be over, one way or the other. I cannot fathom how a broup of private equity bros have managed to string out bidding for such a small business for so long, nor why management didn't tell them to go swivel 6 months ago.

I am in the process of rotating into higher-yielding stocks. My aim by the end of 2025 is to have a portfolio rolling yield of >5%. Current rolling yield (per Sharescope) is 2.71% (although I think ~3% in reality)

Having some landscaping work done at the moment. So far they have managed to make the garden resemble a scene from the Battle of the Somme.

We've heard today that employer's NIC is being hiked by 2%. CGT on shares will also rise - probably to 24% to align with the rate on second homes.

I predict that AIM shares will retain their IHT protection, and so anticipate something of a rush back into quality AIM late next week.

Behind the scenes I have been moving dividend-payers into my SIPP and ISA, and non-yielders into my general account. Now at the point where virtually all yield is in tax-free accounts.

Portfolio annual yield per SharePad = 2.85%

Incurring lots of dealing commissions, but not sure how much value I am adding to my own portfolio rather than just lining the pockets of brokers and market-makers!

I also trimmed my holding in #TPFG (got pretty large post-merger with BLV), and reinvested the proceeds into #SPSY following inexplicable recent weakness in the share price, and #WPS to boost my position in this very under-valued (and little discussed by #fintwit) business

I also added some #ADF following the recently announced acquisition, which sounds very positive if the acquired business performs as forecast. Slight 🤔 as to why management halved their holdings @ 50p if it’s all looking so rosy, hence my continued caution as to position size.

Recycled some of the proceeds into a ew pilot position in #CHRY. Chrysalis NAV ballooned during the post-vaccine bubble, and since crashes back to earth, with the discount widening from c.0% to around 44% currently. Recent tweets by @feynzz re CHRY got me interested in this fund

I’ve recently halved my position in #PPET, after a strong run up this year and a narrowing of the discount to ~24%. That’s significantly tighter than a number of other high quality PE investment trusts, and not entirely justified IMO by the fairly static NAV of the fund over the last 12 months

One of the benefits of bluesky is that my large number positions fits in a single tweet (or whatever the nomenclature is for bluesky - cloud?)

Frustrated by the lack of a proper bsky iPad app? Take a look at Skeets for Bluesky.
My initial impressions are good.
To log in you must use an App Password generated from the Settings (cog) - Advanced section of the “full” web version, I can’t see a way to do it from their official bsky app.
