It was Easter Sunday all seasons in one day! Including this snow storm! The red kites initially cautious soon homed in. It was unclear what or who was next for dinner….

Mean and moody!! This male Tufty, in all his Spring finest. Sometimes it takes time to pause, to look a little closer at the familiar to see how stunning things are. I love these wee punk rockers diving ducks. #TuftyDuck #SpringTime

Caught up with a small flock of Linnets, watched the in-house squabbles as they jostled for the best position on the wall. Spring is definitely in the air. #scottishbirds #linnets #birdingscotland

The Brent Goose. Breeds up in northern Russia, wintering in some places in the U.K.

The light was gorgeous, seeing this goose caught in the evening sunlight. #brentgeese #rspbtitchwell

Ooos that should have said. I had never seen one ever before. Would be amazing to catch in the snow.

A first view for me. A Scottish mountain hare. The U.K’s only native hare, it can reach a speed of over 30mph!

I would love to have seen it in the snow, although Shetland did a very good impression of the real depth of winter. 🥶 #shetland #mountainhare #wildlifescotland

@shetlandwildlife nature & Up Helly Aa ❤️ Sept gave us a dry run of the biting winds. ‘feels like -12C’ a🥶I’ve never experienced.

Waxwing, a passing vagrant. With little bushes/trees an apple in the garden must have felt like a gold mine. #birdingscotland #waxwing #scotland

Super cropped and noisy image, yet stillI seen! Little Bittern seen in Extremadura last year . Unlike the local Bittern that I dipped (check me and the lingo 😆) yesterday. All part of the fun. Would love to hear that boom! Another time…. #littlebittern #Bittern #extremadura #twitching

It’s the best light I’ve ever seen a Kingfisher in.

A male Kingfisher. His breast was a bright orange glowing globe in the light. As a kid I imagined this bird with a crown fishing. I have never stopped being excited by that regal flash of blue. These last few years I have appreciated closer views. #birdingscotland #kingfisher #edinburghwildlife
