A nuthatch carries a seed or nut in its beak. The bird is seen from its right side. I is lit by a low, warm sun. Surrounded by some branches and twigs, the background is a predominantly blue sky.

The #BirdOfTheDay theme today is #Grounded, any bird on natural ground. A White-breasted Nuthatch can usually be seen walking up and down the side of a tree. This one stopped on the ground just long enough to pose for a photo, then back up the tree he went! 😊
