So here is a Whooper Swan (Cygnus cygnus). Large numbers of these beautiful swans migrate to the UK from Iceland, Scandinavia, and Siberia each winter to take advantage of our milder winter climate.

A Common Chiffchaff (Phylloscopus collybita) come to the UK to breed and then migrate to warmer climates like Spain, Portugal, the Mediterranean and North Africa. It is not unusual to find an odd Chiffchaff now remaining here over the winter. Feed on insects but will also take berries in winter.

Sand Martins (Riparia riparia) migrate from Sub-Saharan Africa to breed in the UK. Nesting in long established sites along riverbanks and streams to take advantage of abundant insect life to rear their chicks. Known as Bank Swallows in the United States.

A Bohemian Waxwing (Bombycilla garrulus) migrate from northern Scandinavia and Russia to the UK in large numbers some winters to take advantage of the mild winter climate and the abundant food supply of berries. I have seen them catch flies too.
