An Eastern Phoebe, which is a small flycatcher that had just migrated back to Massachusetts for the breeding season. This bird had grayish-brown upperparts, a darker, soot-colored head, and a whitish-gray underside. It was perched on a brown branch of a bush, with a blurred cluster of reddish-brown leaves from last Autumn and other branches and trees in the background.
