Upgraded b/c heels now slip out of my 3yo Evolv Elektras on volumes (toe down, heel down). Hard to find wide toebox, narrow heel, low volume for street size W5. Tried ~30 sizes, ~12 models 💀 Lucky to find BD Methods on clearance for $125!

What I was most proud of at #climbing today was my resilience on the harder 2 hexes: trying different movements, adjusting balance, finding short betas, overcoming mental blocks. Didn’t send these, but got further with each try, as illustrated 💪

Another short beta from last week! Everyone else cut their feet to swing over easily to the other side of the foothold chasm. I had to use a combination of matching and smearing to gain enough reach to touch the left volume at all.

This has been a great week for successfully pushing the envelope. Another 3 hex / hard V2 in the books, and it’s the most interesting beta I’ve had to do, bar none (or 4!)

Scored a full clip of my yet-to-be-smoothed ascent of the 3 hex (hard V2) from last weekend. This is my 4th 3 hex since I restarted bouldering in July 🥳

Also, top hold was 5” away from my hand 😭 Everyone else casually grabbed it!
