Got this email from @FamilySearch about the #1950Census β well done to every volunteer involved. Canβt wait to see if I can find my grand aunt Cathleen.
If you're having trouble finding someone on the #1950Census on @Ancestry β this might be why.
My great-grandaunt Margaret Calloway's entry on the results page records her only as Calloway: her surname.
Try searching for only their surname at where you think they should be.
Be right back, off to find my family in the #1950Census...
In honor of musician Herbie Hancockβs 82nd birthday today, happy to say I found him in the #1950Census. 10-yr-old Herbert was living with his family at 356 E. 45th St, an address that unfortunately no longer exists.
Hi, #AncestryHour - will be in and out tonight. Nothing much really to report. Still searching #1950Census but no dice so far in a lot of cases. π How's your research going?
Oh boy... π¬ I might be here a while! #1950Census
Have many people done the Get Involved function on FamilySearch to confirm/deny/change transcriptions for the #1950Census? Iβm helping when I have a spare moment and am also patiently waiting for New York to appear! π
Just in from @MyHeritage - #1950Census returns for Wyoming and Delaware are now fully indexed and available to search for free here: (*patiently waits for New York... π )
was really hoping to find someone in the #1950Census to help fill a key gap in time, but she's not there. really hoping she'll show up as corrections and the new transcriptions happen and that she wasn't one of the countless "no one home" people.
#1950Census Status of Wajda's on the old Farmdale, OH, farmstead, 1950. Four of the 10 siblings already out of the nest: Dad running an Army post exchange (& meeting my mom) in Germany & hadn't even met his youngest sibling Sally. Three other siblings married & living elsewhere.
First impression of #1950Census: They didn't ask enough questions. It's thin.
There's a lot less data here than there was in 1940 and earlier.
Happy #1950Census day to all who celebrate!
I FOUND MY GRANDUNCLE! π₯³ #1950Census @USNatArchives

Is this a Christmas song?
Yes, yes it is.
Is it apt for what's coming tomorrow making it feel like Christmas in April?
Yes, yes it is. π
