Sorry, Baby:
I love how this film is about instability and process rather than being told from conventional idea about victim and binary gender. Balance between tenderness and brutality of reality is impeccable.

Jay Kelly:
Looks like Baumbach suddenly wanted to make a film with a vibe of a bit of Sorrentino, and feel of memory play.

Wake Up Dead Man:
Well made as usual and enjoyable enough as a festive film (but this is more suitable for Easter). The most classic tail than the other 2 and it makes me feel like watching special episode of Poker Face

Imitation of Life (1959 Douglas Sirk):
What a grandiose piece of work. I was surprised to see many themes such as work/life balance or single mothers' strong bond with their children and difficulty to see them off grown up.

It Was Just an Accident:
Panahi's films are always good at catching audiences' curiosity from the beginning, then navigate us to brutality of system and its consequences to each personalities - with certain amount of humour. This film is more straightforward than Taxi or No Bear I thought.

Hedda (2025 film):
Hmm looks like Ibsen meets Fitzgerald, or Hedda Gabler in The Great Gatsby world. Another ambitious adaptation - looks a bit like a fantasy England through American's eyes. If she is not so much a proud daughter of the late general, no importance of these guns.

Blue Moon @ Vue West End:
Ethan Hawke is almost unrecognisable and terrific performance as declining Lorenz Hart. A brilliant film about the time changing from old American song book to new artists, with lots of easter eggs for musical and American song book lovers.
#2025Film
Frankenstein (2025, del Toro):
It is... rather gentle take I thought? Victor can be more arrogant and journey of the creature can be more dark, though, this may be simply because of my presumption.

Bugonia:
This one seems to work as theatrical piece doesn't it? Good Music, tight direction but not so interesting as a story (original film was in 2003)

All That Heaven Allows:
This is actually my first Sirk and now I understand why he's called as one of the master. Somewhat novelty-like setting develops into complex human drama. Lighting and colouring is something I've never seen before.

『Peter Hujar's Day』感想。

Redoubt:
Story about a man affected heavily by "in case war came" pamphlet in Sweden (I didn't know this based on the real person). Visual and sound design striking and Denis Lavant phenomenal.

A Pale View of Hills:
Some ppl say the similarity with Fight Club and I agree in a good way. Very beautiful film, with weirdness as all ppl but Niki speaks with very vague memory. Or this is what Ishiguro's novels make strangely crafted.
