93 - Nothing But Trouble released in 1991. A bad movie, no question. Just stuck in my head for some reason. I remember the soundtrack CD a bunch. Stacked cast of comedic actors that somehow couldn't save this movie.

92 - New Jack City released in 1991. This movie changed how people looked at drugs in the '90's. It was kind of like The Wire but 20 years earlier.
Poster for the film. A painting of Connery’s Bond, flanked by Bond girls.
My copy of the film on DVD.
88. From Russia With Love. I think this is my favourite Bond film. Connery was certainly never better, and Robert Shaw is superb, with the train fight between the two being one of the great Bond fight scenes. And that scene might also be why the film is my favourite. #365films

91 - Necessary Roughness released in 1991. Ridiculous college football movie. Scott Bakula as a 40 year old quarterback and a bunch of other '90's actors.

90 - Hudson Hawk released in 1991. I am huge fan of comedy Bruce Willis. While this is generally a bad movie, he is fun in it.
Poster for Shaun of the Dead, featuring Ed, Shaun and Liz, surrounded by zombies.
My copy of Shaun of the Dead on DVD.
87. Shaun of the Dead. The first part of the Cornetto Trilogy is superb. It’s a really funny comedy, and a really good zombie movie, all at the same time. Which should be remarkable, but after Spaced, wasn’t really a surprise from Wright and Pegg. #365films
Poster for Clerks, featuring the cast posing above the logo.
My copy of Clerks X, the 10th anniversary edition, on DVD.
86. Clerks. I was exactly the right age when I first saw Clerks for it to basically become a big part of my personality. Thankfully, I outgrew that, but I still like the film. Given the budget, and some of the terrible acting, it holds up surprisingly well. #365films

89 - Don't Tell Mom the Babysitter's Dead released in 1991. Not nearly as good as Adventures in Babysitting but still a fun movie.

88 - Doc Hollywood released in 1991. Fun comedy with one scene 14 year old me really enjoyed. Not Michael J. Fox first movie after BTTF but soon thereafter and let him stretch his comedy muscles.

87 - Young Guns II released in 1990. I think a big part of why I liked this better than the original was the Jon Bon Jovi soundtrack that I listened to a bunch. Amazing cast:
Emilio Estevez
Kiefer Sutherland
Lou Diamond Phillips
Christian Slater
William Petersen
Alan Ruck

86 - The Rescuers Down Under released in 1990. Disney's first sequel. Just think about that, until 1990 everything was an original. Wow the last 30 years have changed that.
The cover to the Dodgeball DVD, featuring Vince Vaughan and Ben Stiller holding out a dodgeball.
85. Dodgeball. I haven’t watched this for ages. I may not ever watch it again. Because I really over watched it when it came out. Genuinely, the film I watched at the cinema the most times. Because I had a Cineworld card, so it cost nothing. I suspect some of it has aged poorly. #365films

84. Spirited Away. The first Ghibli film I ever saw, and it was at the cinema. It blew me away. I’d never seen anything like it, and it made me a huge Ghibli fan. There are some stunning images (the train on the water). It’s not my favourite Ghibli, but it is the most important to me. #365films

85 - The Hunt for Red October in 1990. The first Tom Clancy Jack Ryan film. It might be the best of them, even though I like Ford as Jack Ryan better. One of the great submarine movies.

84 - Home Alone released in 1990. A Christmas classic that introduced the world to Macaulay Culkin. Watched by many every year.
Poster for Silent Running, featuring a painting of Bruce Dern’s astronaut character tending to some plants in a massive dome in space alongside a robot.
83. Silent Running. A bleak, sci-fi parable which is still scarily relevant today. Earth’s forests are extinct, except for a few specimens sent into space to keep them safe. And it gets more depressing from there. But there’s also something hopeful, and wonderfully imaginative, about it. #365films

83 - Flatliners released in 1990. So many young actors at the start of their careers in this thriller movie. It really scared me at the time.

82 - Edward Scissorhands released in 1990. Tim Burton, Johnny Depp, and Danny Elfman are a powerful combo. Definitely a weird movie. Sort of a twist on Frankenstein.
Poster for Robocop, featuring Robocop stepping out of a police car, accompanied by the tagline “Part man, part machine, all cop!”
My copy of the film on blu ray.
82. Robocop. There is a lot of Robocop media out there. Arguably, most of it sucks. But the first film is genuinely great. A clever, satirical, dystopian sci-fi, with a great central performance from Peter Weller. The other good one is Robocop Vs the Terminator. That rules. #365films

81 - DuckTales the Movie: Treasure of the Lost Lamp released in 1990. Imagine an Indiana Jones film starring the DuckTales crew. Slightly better animation than the afternoon TV show but still direct to video quality even though it came out in theaters.

80 - Die Hard 2 released in 1990. Zero of it was actually filmed in Washington DC and it never snows at Christmas but still had to like it as someone who lives in Northern Virginia. Had the poster hanging in my room when I was in high school.
Poster for the film, featuring the two titular kaiju.
Art for the film from my copy of the Criterion Collection blu ray boxset.
81. Mothra Vs. Godzilla. Mothra is my favourite kaiju, so having her in a Godzilla film automatically elevates it for me. This isn’t the best film to feature both of them, but it is the first, and it’s great fun, with a few genuine surprises. #365films
