Today I am grateful I had a moment of joyful prayer with this enormous Oak tree. I prayed for the American Government… and the wind that whipped up was just coincidental? Maybe so, but I felt blessed, very blessed.

I had conveniently forgotten those months included disseminated Cocci (Valley Fever) and my Dad’s death & then helping Mom transition to a new living situation. This young oak is thirsty, perhaps not well. We hugged for a long time. I know what it feels like to be dry & rough (diflucan woes). I know what it’s like to not feel well but still try to put on a happy face We bonded. We understood.

I started hugging trees daily in December, 2020 & kept at it for 377 days. Reading my daily journal entries from that time (I haven't just sat & read the entries ever) are so heartful. So grateful to past me for doing #377treehugs. (I also hadn't remembered so many days with multiple hugs.)

Ohhh, the word and image are perfect! PS I hugged a couple trees yesterday including a "hand hug" to a very small tree. So lovely! This summer I am purposefully traveling to US states I haven't visited in order to hug more trees in more states. LOL #377treehugs
