I don’t think we are all too busy to review. I think that increasingly we refuse to work for free. Time to pay reviewers. What was the hashtag ? #450movement ?

Just pay them #450movement. Unjournal.org does, and it works. There are not 'perverse incentives' – the author is not the one paying, we are. We 're-hire' evaluators that do the best work, whether they are positive or negative about the research.

I have restarted reviewing papers but on a limited basis. Reviewing papers does nothing for my career and is exploitative of the limited time and labor.

And so in the logic of the capitalistic marketplace. I will gladly review papers in exchange for monetary compensation
