In funzione da sabato scorso sul telescopio dell’Eso Vista, grazie a 2436 fibre ottiche – ciascuna dello spessore di un capello umano – riposizionate ad hoc a ogni osservazione, lo strumento #4Most riesce a ottenere misure spettrali per migliaia di oggetti celesti contemporaneamente.
Lo strumento #4MOST, installato sul telescopio #VISTA presso l’Osservatorio del Paranal in Cile, ha ottenuto la sua “prima luce”, segnando l’avvio della fase operativa di questo strumento spettroscopico senza precedenti.
