Inspired by the luminous edits in the #52frames_underoverexposed gallery, I reworked my shot to embrace the light. The overexposure turns the #lamb into a ghostly whisper—soft, fleeting, almost sacred. A memory bathed in light.

A brick wall viewed at an angle. Overexposure has blown out almost all of the color and all of the detail in the brick, other than the grout.
In Which We Wash Away Most of the Grime: #52Frames 2025 Week 16 -- Under/Over Exposed
Sure you could sand blast or power wash it, but adding 3.5 stops of exposure in post is a heck of a lot cheaper.

A delicate tangle of white fur, suspended like a wisp of cloud against a pitch-black background. The fine, ethereal strands curl and drift in soft arcs, catching the light like spider silk. The organic form floats weightlessly, evoking the fleeting trace of a presence—gentle, loyal, and now only hinted at by this ghostly tuft. Taken from the back of a white boxer, the image is both intimate and abstract, capturing a fragment of the animal’s quiet essence through texture, light, and memory.
Week #16 of 52Frames.
To catch all the details of this tangle of dog hair on the grass in full sunlight, I totally underexposed, and it looks like some smoke taken in studio on a black backdrop...

This week's photo challenge involved over- or under-exposed images. Here, I overexposed some dyed eggs. And in pics #2, #3, I added a panning motion to give the blur.

Week 16 - Under exposed or Over exposed.
I chose over exposed and also the Extra Challenge of 'Lens whacking' aka freelensing. You physically remove the lens and hold it next to the camera resulting in a very shallow dof and light leaks.

This image features a close-up of a pink tulip flower, captured in soft focus against a white background. The flower appears partially wilted, with one petal detached and resting beside it. The delicate petals exhibit a gradient from pale pink at the tips to a lighter, almost white hue near the center. The stamens and pistil are clearly visible, showcasing yellow pollen-covered anthers. The stem extends faintly into the background, becoming increasingly blurred due to the shallow depth of field. The overall composition emphasizes the fragility and transient beauty of the flower. The lighting is soft and diffuse, eliminating harsh shadows and contributing to a gentle, ethereal atmosphere. The photograph draws attention to the fine details and textures of the tulip, highlighting its natural form in a clean, minimalist setting.
This image shows a close-up of a soft pink tulip in bloom, lying on a white surface. The petals are gently opened, revealing yellow pollen-covered anthers and a pale central pistil. The overall composition is bright and delicate, emphasizing the flower’s subtle textures and graceful form.

The image shows a small blue articulated humanoid figure standing in front of a large, bright rectangular light source. The figure is facing the light, with its back toward the camera. The brightness of the light creates a strong silhouette effect, making the figure appear dark around the edges with some parts of the blue plastic body still visible. The surrounding area is dimly lit, with dark walls on both sides of the light source. The figure is standing on a flat surface.

Created for this week's #52frames #challenge: "Under/Over Exposed". Hey, I haven't really overexposed anything in quite a while. I'm usually an underexposure kind of guy.

The #lamb turns from the world—
not lost, just listening.
Bathed in the light of resurrection,
sacrifice whispered away,
and the soft promise of return.

Overexposed bell with silos in the background on a farm in central Oklahoma
Our 52Frames Photo Challenge this week asked us to use under or over exposure for creative effect. For my submission, I selected this shot of a bell with silos in the background on my wife’s family farm in central Oklahoma. #52frames_underoverexposed #photography
Black and white photo of some tall buildings in downtown Aurora, Illinois. The background is full of dramatic clouds. A covered walkway crosses the Fox River in the foreground.

Playing with opposing viewpoints for #52frames_underoverexposed. Same view, but exposure compensation maxed in either direction.
