I'm looking for some #poetry #submissions for publication. You are invited to respond to Sally Anne Wickenden's art with your words.
Come down to the Fox Gallery in Mexborough and have a look, or take a look at her work online. There are links and some Sally Ann inspired poetry on her #60Odd page
Der junge Künstler (The Young Artist) by Franz von Defregger. (1835 - 1921) Showing a chap reading a book. In the book is an illustration of another chap. There is what appears to be a red hanky hanging from a jacket pocket in the top right corner. This is reminiscent of the film "Cruising" (1980) One wonders if the book that the chap is reading is some victorian precursor of the Grindr website? A quick bit of research on Wikipedia reveals that a red hanky indicates a preference for the practice of fisting. Crikey.

And while I still have the air of Mexborough version of Caledona fortifying my blood, here are my thoughts on #RobertBurns, and the art of rude #poetry. Its the last of my articles in #60Odd Poems for a while. I have lots of other exciting things to do over the next few months.
I have some involvement with this little project... It was devised by @alanparrywriter.co.uk of @thebrokenspine.co.uk I mainly use it to find #poetry publications to review. I churn one or two out on my blog #60Odd poets once month. Occasionally I might go for something non-poetry based like yours.

What a treat! six poems from Bruce Barnes, starting with Melvin Bragg on Radio 4 and ending at the British Museum at Closing time. A lovely entertaining read. #poetry #60Odd
I have recently become a little obsessed with writing about the internal organs of poets. After an essay on Thomas Hardy's Heart, I wrote about the immense volume of Lord Byron's Brain, which led me to the topic of the small, but perfectly formed brain of Anatole France. #60Odd #Poetry What next?
This morning at 11.00 BST. #60Odd Poets is proud to present a selection of the work of Rachel Burrows @rburrows.bsky.social. Deceptively simple lines that will win your heart and have you searching for more. #poetry to savour.
Poster for a poetry even, named "Poetry and Palaver," to be held in Mexborough, south Yorkshire, on June 29th. It'll be a right palaver.
There will be #Poetry and all manner of Palaver in the South Yorkshire town of Mexborough on Sunday June 29th, with an evening of #60Odd happenings. It would be great if you could make it. If not, perhaps you would like me to take the show on the road, either in person, or over the World Wide Web?
The covers of the first seven published Sixty Odd Poets collections, each featuring six poets who have been admitted to the fellowship of the Sixty odd by appearing on the website at https://sixtyoddpoets.substack.com/

We had a marvellous launch of #60Odd Poets at Sixes and Sevens at the Fox Gallery in Mexborough yesterday night. Great #poetry, great comradeship and great creativity. The next event will be Sunday June 29th. If you can't make it, I am pipe dreaming of 60Odd on tour events. What do you think?
A poster for the Mexborough Launch night of the seventh volume of the Sixty Odd Poets collection, At Sixes and Sevens, showing the cover of the book and the six fantastic poets featured within.
It's the big Launch of #60Odd Poets - At Sixes and Sevens in South Yorkshire tonight. If you cant make it despite the great road and rail links to Mexborough, why not support independent #poetry by purchasing a book and/or submitting work for a future volume?
Wow! That is a brilliant poem Niall. And the site merits further exploration too! Thanks for the link. If I did a football edition of #60odd poems at some point, would you let me your piece?
Not too off the wall at all! You can never be too off the wall for #60Odd poets. It would make a great pairing.

I love writing #poetry about rock stars of the 70s. Those characters have always been as important as heroes of Greek mythology to my uncultured mind.
The fable of Steve Peregrin Took, who got himself fired from T-Rex and died an ignominious death a few years later is a sorry one. #60Odd poems
#poetry on topics from the paintings of Raphael to visiting a Jumble sale - Miriam Harrison on #60Odd poets
