The 69th Street Transfer Bridge sits on the banks of the Hudson River on the Manhattan side. It once lifted rail cars on to and off of barges headed to and coming from Weehawken, New Jersey, about a mile down the river from this site. The bridge was built in 1911 and decomissioned in 1968. Plans are in place to rehab the structure into an urban park, but I have seen no progress on those plans. This view is at sunset.
