Today in #LaborHistory 5/5/1886: Bay View #Massacre Milwaukee, day after #Haymarket bombing, #Chicago. Workers in both cities were demonstrating for #8hourday. 1,400 strikes that year for 8-hour day. State militia killed 7, incl 14-yr-old boy. No militiamen charged. 50 strikers convicted of #riot.
