Thank you to all the patient advocates who joined #AACRdisp25 as speakers, panelists, poster presenters, roundtable participants—and to Advocate Program Planning Committee Member Ysabel Duron. Your voices are driving progress in cancer science and medicine. #AACRSSP
The role of patient advocates has evolved, and it's time to take a fresh look at what it means today. Co-moderators Ysabel Duron and Yamile Molina explored how advocacy is being redefined at #AACRdisp25. #AACRSSP #AACRAdvocates
At #AACRdisp25, Ysabel Duron led a patient advocacy roundtable with David Sanders of Henrietta Lacks House of Healing, Carmen White of Pfizer, and Alejandra Hurtado de Mendoza of Georgetown University on how to strengthen partnerships and build trust in the community. #AACRSSP #AACRAdvocates

Left @theaacr.bsky.social with a full ❤️ It was a honor to have been a mentor for the Scientist-> Survivor program! I love helping to guide new advocates & empower them to collaborate with researchers with the same goal: to show the world how cancer research saves lives! #AACR25 #AACRSSP
Thank you for highlighting the great science at #AACR25, Dr. Lou. And for all your contributions to our shared AACR mission to prevent and cure cancers. #CancerResearchSavesLives® #AACRSSP
The #AACRSSP is close to my heart. For the past 10+ yrs, I have had the privilege of working with amazing patient survivor-thriver/advocates and learned so much from them. I’m about to report to duty for #AACRSSP #AACR25 Edition. When @theaacr.bsky.social calls, I’m in www.aacr.org/patients-car...
Kicking off the 2025 @theaacr.bsky.social Scientist->Survivor program with our fearless leader Dr. Anna Barker . The theme of this years meeting is “Building Bridges for Progress Against Cancer” and we cannot accomplish that w/out scientists & patient advocates working together! #AACR25 #AACRSSP
On my way to Chicago for the @theaacr.bsky.social Annual Meeting where I’m participating in the Scientist—>Survivor Program. Looking forward to connecting or reconnecting with my fellow advocates. #AACRSSP #AACR25
#LFG !!
Early morning flight to @theaacr.bsky.social to be a mentor for the Scientists—>Survivor program. My goal is to share the research with you all in a digesttable way! Research and innovation leads the way to better prevention, treatment and understanding of cancer! #AACR25 #AACRSSP #cancer
What says leaving Vancouver more than a #redtoque, a @TheWRP4LC and a Thunderbird.
It seems a little unreal to be on my way to #AACR25 with #AACRSSP.
But here I am.
Allison, we are looking forward to seeing you in Chicago for the AACR Annual Meeting 2025. Thank you for serving as an #AACR25 social media ambassador. #AACRSSP #AACRAdvocates
So excited about this session! Hear about patient and community engagement - @bobriter @e_paskett @EugeneManley CJ Williams, A. Co-Dyre, R. Prosser, B.Salhia, A. Saghian #patientengagement #AACRSSP #AACR25 @unclineberger.bsky.social @theaacr.bsky.social www.abstractsonline.com/pp8/#!/20273...
AACR is dedicated to helping unite patients and cancer researchers around the world. Today is #WorldCancerDay; learn more about how the AACR is advancing lifesaving research through various patient advocacy and global initiatives: www.aacr.org/blog/2025/02... #AACRSSP @uiccofficial.bsky.social
Another possibility for NK cells: model of HIF1a knockout mice can use IL-18 to turn a cold tumor hot. Human cancers with high NK/IL-18/INFgamma signals have better prognosis. Can we use a HIF1a inhibitor to drive this in people like in mice?? #AACR21 #AACRSSP
what I learned at #AACR21 as part of #AACRSSP (where you have to watch things you normally wouldn't): teaching NK cells to remember how to kill those damn cancer cells. Would love to know if this is a possibility in #breastcancer #bcsm
The opportunity to interact with movers and shakers is a key component of #AACRSSP. While we couldn’t be in the same room this year (damn Covid) it doesn’t diminish the conversation. @realrickpazdur @FDAOncology @pkluetz @rea_blakey @harpreet_md
Look who I saw when I logged into #AACR21 this AM: fellow @metavivor board member Barb Bigelow! #AACRSSP
Checking in late to say hi. Beautiful day here in Lake Tahoe, although I spent most of it in front of the computer for the #AACRSSP program. #bcsm
Dr Lo Russo mentions team members like biostatisticians and money people, but fogets to metntion the most important team members (and ones most investigators also neglets to include): patient #advocates. we can help you formulate the most impactful questions #aacrssp #aacr21
We have to move from bench to bedside and bedside to bench in order to do the most impactful research. Dr Patricia LoRusso #aacrssp
#AACRSSP special session with Dr Patricia LoRusso: patents go on #clinicaltrials because they want to live. #truth Also, IMHO, if you involve us early on in the design of trials, the trials will be better, accrual will be faster.
more from Dr Carpten #AACRSSP- mutations in tumor suppressor genes "cut the brakes" allowing cells to grow out of control (AKA cancer). Oncogenes can be turned on, pressing on the accelerator and, again, leading to uncontrolled growth and cancer.
Day 3 of #AACRSSP starting off with a bang with a special session with John Carpten, PhD on cancer genetics and genomics.
Watched @Nikhilwagle's #AACR21 presentation on resistance in ER+ MBC. Great info on mechanisms and potential trials/options, but I watched at 2x speed so the brilliant Dr Nik sounded like Dr Mick(ey Mouse)! #AACRSSP #bcsm #metastaticbreastcancer
Another interesting talk from yesterday #AACR21 was on alpha emitter thorium coupled to an Ab that binds to HER2. Most of the slides were "do not post" but there is a clinical trial. clinicaltrials.gov/ct2/show/NCT04147819

For @Martha__Carlson and others who wanted to see my #AACRSSP #AACR21 poster designed to let #researchers know about @metavivor #metastaticbreastcancer #bcsm
Researchers at #AACR21: check out my @metavivor poster ADV32 - we fund researcher that will benefit those of us already diagnosed with #metastaticbreastcancer. 2021 cycle is closed but keep us in mind for 2022! We funded $4.4 MILLION last yr in the midst of the pandemic #AACRSSP
