Last week, I had so much fun talking about #microbes, #bioinformatics_education, and my Ph.D. experience at @univofmaryland.bsky.social at #ABRCMS2024! I met so many undergrads doing amazing research and faculty who care about building a resilient and equitable research future in biology.

I presented my research poster at my first in-person national conference. Had the opportunity to learn a lot about different mentoring methods #mentoringup, hear from diverse scientists about their science journey, and meet new friends!

Had a wonderful time at #ABRCMS2024 representing PSU and the Huck Institutes. First time attending but hopefully not my last! I loved serving as a judge and getting to hear the students' enthusiasm for their research. I hope they leave this meeting feeling inspired and so proud of themselves!

Congrats to two phenomenal undergrad scientists, Nathalie Nieto Torres and Sophie LaPeters, who worked in my lab this past summer on their beautiful poster presentations at #ABRCMS2024! They both have an infectious passion for science. We miss them in the lab and can’t wait to see what they do next!
