On the left is an official model pose of Jake from American Dragon: Jake Long in his dragon form. It has been crudely scribbled over in order for me to try and make sense of it. To the right are three resulting sketches from the study, two busts, one half-body with various expressions, poses and angles.

This dude has such a funny head shape that I had to do a whole ass shape deconstruction study just so I could figure out how to draw him

This was one of the biggest technical struggles I've had as an illustrator.
I would do it again in a heartbeat.
