The first night was windless, dry, and very cold. I just closed the awning more than the photo shows and didn't yet protect the film from much wind. The super-comfortable camping blanket, folded twice into a 1x1 meter square from four panels and equipped with insulation foil, was perfect for walking barefoot, standing, and sitting. I could take off my shoes in the dry without dirtying the awning or the main tent: pure luxury with nothing but rope, painter's foil, and a cheap tent! The photo shows part of it as well as my covered toilet.

The front of the tent structure. You can see the awning, closed on more than three sides, which was stabilized by luggage - the tent is small, but w/o luggage it was luxurious- and the toilet, a completely watertight bucket for storing food. Mist from the small river, visible in the left photo of the starting post, rose from this side but couldn't bother me.
The generously proportioned upper section of the awning, created by gravity and clever knots, is a perfect insect trap. Before going to bed, I lured most of the insects outside with a bright light, but they didn't bother me. I didn't want to stress them out because I respect nature. In an emergency, though, I certainly wouldn't shy away from the protein and would set up plenty of these simple traps.

How To #Outdoor Macrophotography: Condensation drops have settled between a tent wall and the painter's film, but not inside the tent. Only in the areas that weren't in close contact with the film and that weren't part of a very comfortable awning did some condensation that couldn't bother me, form. The tent doesn't have to be waterproof. I used a one-man tent that weighs only 1.5 kg, which, according to the manufacturer, has a hydrostatic head of 2000 mm. The film is waterproof. That's enough.
My construction after two nights, the last of which brought an effing lot of wind and rain. By cleverly knotting the film and applying tension, I was able to make the wind my friend: It increased the volume of the luxurious awning just like an anemometer and simultaneously pressed the lower film in the direction of the tent. The whole thing was further stabilized by rain. The film remained intact. I was forced to secure one of the tent's guy ropes to a tree: the manufacturer hadn't included enough tent pegs. I only realized this when unpacking my brand-new tent. In a pinch, a peg can be quickly made from a sufficiently sturdy, forked twig. Depending on the terrain, the twig doesn't require any further preparation. Broken tent poles are also no problem. Long, flexible, thin branches (willow and hazel bushes are particularly good) that have been stripped of their side branches and leaves are a suitable substitute.
