I was going to finish #ALXBeercember without posting, but Day 12, observed, is too weird (complimentary) not to. The first sour I tried and liked, although not great paired with pizza. Hope I can find more Seasick Crocodile at @deptofbeerandwine.bsky.social next year.

Merry Christmas Eve with #ALXBeercember #24, Hardywood’s Gingerbread Stout from the famed Richmond brewery. These holiday stouts have been a mixed bag, but this one is a winner.

Day 24: a third label design! #ALXBeercember

They found tiny Santa hats during their travels & seem to have gotten into the holiday spirit. Or some spirits, at any rate, because a few of them seem a little woozy and one of them is downright surly, claiming that we’re talking too loud and the Christmas tree lights are too bright. Nevertheless, they wish you all the happiest of holidays! I think. Yes. Let’s go with that. Theme alert: please note that the middle aged man with the long blond ponytail is wearing a pair of lounging pants I made him that have a pattern of tiny bottles all over them. Technically they’re bottles of potions because it’s a Halloween print but I think it counts.

#ALXBeercember #23 hopefully won’t include airing grievances…in celebration of Festivus, we have Grand Hazelnut Reserve Imperial Stout from Oklahoma’s Prairie Artisan Ales. Hazelnut rather understates it; smoky and rich, with cherry-chocolate notes. Verdict is still out but leaning towards a yes.
