Late post alert!! 📢
I presented my work at #ANS2024 at Perth, Australia in December 2024 and met some fantastic neuroscientists in the field! Was too excited to take more pictures, so here's the few I could find

As an amateur videographer I sat in a fireside chat with Prof Tracy Bale, #IBRO president @thebalelab.bsky.social and co-chief editor of Neurosience, Prof Sarah Spencer @sjspencerlab.bsky.social at #ANS2024!!!

I had the privilege and fun of chatting with the fabulous #IBRO president, Prof Tracy Bale, @thebalelab.bsky.social at the #ANS2024 meeting in Perth. Check out her thoughts on Australian science and the IBRO presidency role. Thx to @elimelb.bsky.social on camera.
Thx for being the videographer/producer for our chat @elimelb.bsky.social !! Was an incredibly fun visit to beautiful Perth for #ANS2024 🧠

Thanks #ans2024 for the early career presenter prize.
And big congrats to Kady Braack (also from the @theauditorylab.bsky.social!) for winning best PhD student presentation.
Thanks to everyone at the @theauditorylab.bsky.social for helping us prep such well received talks. 😊
Excellent talk from PhD student Kady Braack on cochlear implant induced fibrosis. #ANS2024 #neuroscience
Had a fantastic week at #ANS2024 with Australasian Neuroscience colleagues talking #microglia, #pericytes and #TasmanianDevils. Look forward to seeing you all again in #Hobart for #ANS2025!
A great honour to be the recipient of the 2024 A.W. Campbell Medal 🥇from the Australasian Neuroscience Society. Science is all team work + this award represents the work of lab members past/present and my many mentors and collaborators who guide me. Thank you #ANS2024 🧠✨🙏🏽
Starting now #ANS2024 🧠
trailblazing: a roadmap for courageous change
Man (Chris Dayas) standing at his research poster describing stress effects on stress coping and reward behaviours
Woman (Jackie Iredale) standing next to her poster using a live rat stress paradigm to investigate approach avoidance under threat

The lab presenting their awesome work and (and co-chairing a fantastic session) at #ANS2024 today, more to come tomorrow!
#ANS2024 don't stay out too late at tonight's conference dinner and make sure you join the equity and diversity committee panel (and free breakfast)
If you've travelled from the east coast lean into the jet lag, get up early and join these important discussions
Excellent plenary lecture 🧠🧲 at Australasian Neuroscience Society meeting in Perth today by A/Prof Jenny Rodger #ANS2024 #neuroscience #brainstimulation
Proud to be a sponsor of #ANS2024, well done to the organising committee for all your hard work.
It’s been a fabulous #ANS2024 🧠 mtg in beautiful Perth 🇦🇺. Mtg kicked off with Welcome to Country with the ceremonial blowing of the didgeridoo. Got to judge in the National @brainbee.bsky.social talented high schoolers 🤯. And biked around Rottenest Island to get a selfie with the quokkas.
@nataliematosin.bsky.social receiving the AW Campbell medal 🥇 for the best contribution by a member of the Society during their first five postdoctoral years #ans2024
I’m so impressed to see so many science parents with little kids at the Australasian neuroscience society meeting #ans2024 … and when that doesn’t work there’s always zoom. Here’s Rachelle Balez, just 5 weeks after the birth of her daughter, giving a stellar talk 🌟
Incredibly well deserved, the AW Campbell award goes to @nataliematosin.bsky.social so inspirational! Great talk about all the fancy techniques we have at our disposal to answer questions we didn’t even know we had #ans2024
Fascinating talk from Tony Hannan
on gut-brain interaction in Huntington's and epigenetic inheritance #ANS2024
#42: #ANS2024 is held in the Noongar season of Birak, the season of the young. Birak sees snakes and reptiles shed their skins, chicks leave the nest and young animals venture out It's also marked by the flowering of Moodjar, the WA Christmas tree.
#39: The picturesque Swan Valley is just 25 minutes from Perth and accessible by public transport! It's the perfect spot to relax after #ANS2024 and try some local wine 🍷, chocolate and produce.
#27: #ANS2024 will be held on Whajuk Noongar land (boodja). You might notice a lot of place names ending in -up in southern WA; the suffix means "place of" in Noongar language (wangkininy).
#ANS2024 I've been sharing some fun facts about Perth and Western Australia to get you excited about visiting our wonderful city - 42 facts for the 42nd ANS meeting!! 🧵recap part 2:
#2: Herrison island is in the middle of the Swan river just outside the CBD - and there's a colony of roos there! 🦘If you're lucky you might see them from the #ANS2024 party venue
Wonderful talk from @francinemarques.bsky.social on her work using dietary fibre to improve outcomes after #stroke #ANS2024
Prof @gavanm.bsky.social
delivering the #ANS2024 Elspeth McLachlan Plenary Lecture on his fascinating work on the dynamics of punishment learning
