Idk why it never occurred to me but we always complain about not getting weights, unable to accurately weigh patients but IC doesn’t need weights to be measured! You can still monitor changes but the actual number might not matter anymore if using IC #ASPEN25

Short bowel syndrome is not just a specific measurement of leftover gut. It’s the lack of ability to absorb and maintain adequate nutrients (protein, micro nutrients, electrolytes, etc) as a result of a shortened gut.

Enteral Nutrition is not always a hard and fast contraindication.
