Again, AV over IP is largely Elite / High End & Proprietary
#AVintheAM
Short answer, yes. But...
(1) Have other industries got it right? EV's have different chargers / USB-C has confusing labels like washing and drying clothes
(2) However, AV are worse. HDMI is a bag of shite!!! & Dante seems to be reserved for the elite!? #AVintheAM
Good question & well worded. I think true interop would "help"
We're going through this with a client right now and the biggest challenge for my guy is explaining to his users why (in 2026) not??
& Q5 I told him apps is the potential answer #AVintheAM
Q5 Has AV-over-IP actually improved interoperability or just shifted the complexity? Are we seeing a new wave of vendor lock-in disguised as ecosystems? #AVinTheAm #AVtweeps
Q4 Would true interoperability commoditize AV or elevate it? #AVintheAm #AVtweeps
Q3 Are APIs the real future of AV interoperability? If so, why aren’t they more standardized? If so, why do two “standards-based” products still require hours of troubleshooting to talk to each other? #AVintheAm #AVtweeps
Q2 Should there be a universal AV “compliance” standard like we see in other industries? Is the AV industry too fragmented to ever fully standardize? We are called "Integrators" for a reason. #AVintheAm #AvTweeps

Q3 Has technology finally made enough of an impact in our everyday lives that clients are starting to expect AV earlier in the process, or are we still pushing uphill? #AVinTheAM #AVtweep
Q2 How do we better communicate the value of AV to stakeholders who only see it as screens and speakers? What’s one mistake you see repeatedly when AV is not included in early planning? #AVintheAm #AVtweeps
Q1 Why is AV still sometimes treated as an add-on instead of a foundational layer in building design? #AVintheAm #AVtweeps

Q4 What’s your honest take on AV shows, conferences, and roadshows today? Are they still delivering the value our industry needs? If you could add to the suggestion box for the ideal AV event experience, what would you change or add? Or leave as is? #AVinTheAM #AVtweeps
(Part2) Q3 And does that element of serendipity and unplanned discovery ultimately drive more meaningful tech insights than a carefully planned agenda? #AVinTheAM #AVtweeps
(part 1) Q3 At citywide festivals, where pop-ups, lounges, and street activations replace traditional show floors, does the format encourage bolder AV tech experimentation than the more structured environment of a buttoned-up conference? #AVinTheAM #AVtweeps
Q2 Trade shows often reward scale: bigger booths, bigger displays, bigger systems. Festival events focus on creativity and storytelling. Which of these do you think will appeal to the next generation of AV buyers & professionals? #AVinTheAM #AVtweeps
Q1 Traditional AV trade shows focus heavily on product launches. Festival-style events like South by Southwest focus on experiences. Which format do you feel better represents where the AV industry is actually headed? #AVinTheAM #AVtweeps
